History
The Corpus Christi Area Youth Orchestra has been supported by the Corpus Christi Symphony Orchestra since 1996 and is proud to call Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi its home. The Youth Orchestra was a product of Del Mar College for 2006-2007 and 2007-2008, and was under the guidelines of the Corpus Christi Independent School District from the 1950s to 1994. Past directors of the Youth Symphony have included Starlee Driscoll, James Houston, Andrew Wison, Martha Stone, Janina Dumont, Kim Mrazek, and most recently Brendan Townsend.
