The CCSO’s 65th season opens with Nobuyuki Tsujii, co-winner of the Gold medal at the Thirteenth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2009. Blind since birth, Mr. Tsujii’s performances have been described as “spellbinding” and “astonishing,” often bringing listeners to tears. He performs Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto no. 1. Its unforgettable opening and majestic yet virtuosic sounds are the epitome of Russian romanticism and splendor. The orchestra also performs Brahms Symphony no. 2. Its lyrical beauty has made it possibly the most popular of the four symphonies Brahms composed.
