Canadian violinist Karen Gomyo won
the 1997 Young Concert Artists
International Auditions just one week
after her fifteenth birthday. The
following year she became the
youngest artist ever to be presented
in the Young Concert Artists Series
in New York. Playing the rare 1703
Stradivarius “Ex Foulis” violin, she
delights audiences with her
passionate, virtuosic performances.
In addition to her performance of the
Sibelius, one of the greatest
romantic violin concertos, the
orchestra performs the lushly
orchestrated and emotional
“Pathetique” Symphony, Tchaikovsky’s
last composition.
